Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

1) ubuntu jaunty
2) xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.10~git+20090105+7dc567d-1
3) X to start (maybe not work)
4) errors out and does not start:
(EE) NOUVEAU(0): Pointer to LVDS manufacturer table invalid
(EE) NOUVEAU(0): 1373: No valid modes.
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

This is a nforce2 motherboard using the integrated GPU.
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX -
nForce GPU] (rev a3)

It seems like the driver is mistakenly thinking it is a laptop and
trying to read non-existent LVDS stuff from the bios. If I comment out
the parts in nv_bios.c that parse the lvds info(or call that method) it
will start but doesn't quite work right.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
