Right on, /dev/sda10 had a bootable copy of the same .iso as the physical CD did. The bootable copy is used as a quick test to see if it's going to run before taking the time to burn a CD/RW for my other test machines. /dev/sda11 was built from a jaunty Xubuntu .iso and /dev/sda12 was built from a jaunty Kubuntu .iso neither of which were mounted. From what you described; they would not have had the unique ID. Thanks much for tracking this one down.
