Andreas you were right. I somehow was under the impression the fixes were included in the 4.2 release. I also tested kdebluetooth_0.3-0ubuntu1, which doesn't work either.
kdebluetooth_0.3-0ubuntu0.1 on the other hand works. kbluetooth4 immediately started up, lookup and pairing with my phone worked nicely.
