This is very common if you compile anything against the kernel yourself. The updated AppleSMC package in the mactel-support repo is provided so that you have a fixed before it may be available in the standard Ubuntu repos. The changes made were submitted upstream and then included in the Linux kernel. However, the changes were included in a version of the kernel that is newer than that available in the Intrepid. For this reason, you still need to update via the mactel-support repos... and since your kernel was updated, and the previous version of the applesmc module was compiled against the old kernel, you may need to compile it again against the newer kernel.
Bottom Line, the fix IS released, and it has been nominated for an Intrepid backport. Now you just have to wait. -- WARNING: Intrepid might burn down MacBook Pro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262550 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
