clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, or to clean the
CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics

Perhaps you could also try the same install with an Edgy CD (6.10)
instead. And finally it would be interesting to see the /home partition
formatted as ext3 instead of fat32 -- that is highly recommended anyway.
