Public bug reported:
I was doing the upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-11-generic through
the automatic update process. I chose three way experimental merge and
something failed. This has happened to me before with other kernel
upgrades.
Even more annoying, is on another system where I have one IDE drive for
the OS and four SATA drives (software raid) for data. When I choose to
do the 3 way merge, it puts the wrong drive identifier in my menu.lst
file. My OS is on hd0 and it always makes the new version by hd1, so I
have to manually edit the file every kernel update.
