Hi Shane! Your bug has already been reported, it is bug #262451 . For this reason I should close this report.
Could you please follow these steps? 1) Open a Terminal 2) Run this command: "sudo dpkg --audit". It will output a message like this: "The following packages are only half configured, probably due to problems configuring them the first time. The configuration should be retried using dpkg --configure <package> or the configure menu option in dselect: gxine the xine video player, GTK+/Gnome user interface" (NOTE that the last line may be different, and it is the most important!!! For example it could report a problem with program 'console-setup', or another program as well!) 3) Delete the program reported in the output message of "sudo dpkg --audit", using this command "sudo dpkg --remove <name_of_the_program>" 4) Run "sudo dpkg --configure -a" 5) Run "sudo dpkg --install <name_of_the_program>" And try to open synaptic once again! Could you please tell us if this procedure has solved your problem? Thanks in advance! -- I try to run Synaptic Package Manager, and it gives the following error: "E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. E: _cache->open() failed. Please report. " I am now unable to access Synaptic. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324252 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
