I think that you are experiencing a general X problem and this is not related to compiz because you are not using it. Moreover it seem not to be related with scrollbars, but it seems to be a general corruption of graphic. Could you please try to reproduce that issue and later attach to this bug report the following files? - /var/log/Xorg.0.log - /etc/X11/xorg.conf - Open a terminal, run "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log".
