The same to me. I have tried the binaries for Ubuntu 8.10 and compiling from svn with the wizard (both from kdenlive.org) with no success.
In both cases kdenlive starts but after this, without doing anything the cpu is working at 30%. Changing the focus to another window the cpu becomes idle.
