These errors aren't linked with this bug. You might create an other bug
about this, or search there is already one about this.

What happened it you revert the change in the laucher ? It works again ? I'm 
not sure that the changes in the lauchers are responsible for your black 
screen. It may be an other bug. You can look the logs of xession, xorg, dmesg 
to understand what happened.


@cueball,
You might not see the difference since the performance of your hard disk are 
limitative. You can try to logout/login again with and without the changes to 
see the difference (since the files are loaded into memory).
Gnome startup is still very slow because it need to load a large amount of 
files from disk.


I attach a script that automaticaly do the change in the lauchers (should be 
use with superuser privileges).
