another workaround is to move or resize the window in that brief moment that the window is un-fullscreen (ie, hit F11 and then _quickly_ grab one of the window decorators to move or resize)
This method does require fast mousing skills, but is doable since another aspect of this bug is that the window, for the brief moment that it is un-fullscreened, always shows up in the upper left hand corner. ps - I added AisleRiot to the title, since thats the name of the program.
