** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: udev

  Ubuntu 8.10 udev 124-9 SONY CD-RW CRX230EE
  Duplicate of bug #283316
  I tried this:
sudo udevadm monitor --udev 2>&1 | tee /tmp/udev.log
inserted and ejected the cd, did the trick of hitting the cd burner's button
also but /tmp/udev.log had nothing in it (don't know if should have done
anything else because the Terminal didn't give any reaction).
  Then did:
  sudo /etc/init.d/hal stop
and the CD-RW didn't mount (BUT the manual eject function worked properly -
without 'auto-retract'), so
  sudo /etc/init.d/hal start
and returned to the initial status.

- Also I found out that CrunchBang 8.10.02 (based on ubuntu 8.10) live-cd
- has this problem too while Knoppix 6.0 (based on Debian, I think) has it
- not.

+ *Using CrunchBang live-cd in a pc with a CD-RW and a DVD-RW drives (both LG)
and confirm that the DVD drive doesn't present the bug while running the
live-cd in the other drive (I remember that happened also with ubuntu Intrepid
some time ago) - almost sure the DVD drive is set as master and the CD drive as
slave.
