** Description changed: I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty alpha 4. I did a apt- get update and a apt-get install ubuntu-netbook-remix and restarted. After logging in, a mix of the regular gnome interface and the ubuntu remix interface started. They seemed to "compete" with each other, and - the whole thing hangs more and more as the seconds pass. The lower - gnome panel fills up with an increasing amount of icons. I think they - were referring to File Manager. A "ps" in a terminal didn't reveal any - unusual amount of processes. "top" reveals that the top three processes - (compiz.real, Xorg, nautilus) uses 13, 8 and 7% CPU, but the total is - 75%. I get a warning about the mixer applet being a problem as well. - After a minute or two, the system is totally unresponsive. + the whole thing hangs more and more as the seconds pass. + + The lower gnome panel fills up with an increasing amount of icons.
