Under Hardy, Medibuntu provided *-unstripped, which included support for AMR.
Under Intrepid, Medibuntu does not provide ffmpeg or lib*-unstripped anymore. Instead, these packages are available in the multiverse repository, which I installed as suggested in https://bugs.launchpad.net/medibuntu/+bug/291011/comments/1. This comment goes on to say: "They should include all necessary codecs (except amr, because I haven't had the time to add it, please open a specific bug report if you are interested by it)..." I am interested by it, as are some others, judging from the forums. This is the specific bug report requested. If this is the wrong package, please could someone who knows better change it to the right one.
