Public bug reported:
Running ubuntu 7.1 (Gutsy).
I have internal sound chip which shows up properly in Gnome Alsa Mixer.
I have an add-on PCI card SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS.
The Alsamixer shows the many many Audigy devices, but does not have a Record
Checkbox attached to any of them; not to microphone, or line-in or line2-in
etc.
Per a ps -ef | grep "d " I am not running any pulse audio or jack daemons.
here is the output of lshw -C sound

(Secondary)
attached is a screen shot of the AlsaMixer. Note the name assigned to
the Audigy card; it inlcludes a comma. I think this generates other
problems with applications but I am not certain. Not the total lack of
record check-boxes on any device.
PS the reason I am still running Gutsy is because the Hardy and Ibex versions
will not properly work with my wired lan.
See my other bug report.
Regards,
Greg Morse.
