I'm not sure how useful this is, but here's some additional information: I was upgrading an 8.04 system via 'apt-get dist-upgrade'. (did an update first of course.) I first ran in simulate mode and everything seemed fine (no errors.) Then I did the dist-upgrade and got the errors other have shown above.
I spent a few hours trying to figure out what cause the disagreement in the Errno.pm file. (I don't understand where/when that file gets generated.) So my assumption was that some earlier update had broken that file. On the box, I have a crontab entry that runs every 5 minutes. It spit out the same error for the hours until I hand-edited the "1.2.3-server" part of the version in Errno.pm. So the Errno.pm must have been fine before 'dist-upgrade', and then modified/broken during the 'dist-upgrade' that I did; not by some earlier upgrade. If someone would toss me some breadcrumbs about Errno.pm's generation, I'll be happy to try to learn more. -- apt-get upgrade fails for 8.04.1 Server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/315602 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
