When I try to reproduce, I cannot, rhythmbox either closes down fine or freezes completely. As said, gtkpod was open (and using the iPod) around the same time, and maybe its interaction is what caused the original crash. Thus, I am only left with the original apport uploads as "evidence" of this crash.
So, I tried using the core dump that apport uploaded to here automatically, but I guess the debugging symbols are not saved (the dump was created with -dbgsyms installed); so, when I ran the core dump through gdb, it found no symbols and the backtrace was as you see. In conclusion, if there is no way to insert the required symbols into the core dump, then it seems I cannot backtrace this crash. Are -dev and -dbgsyms the same? Why doesn't the core dump keep the symbols in it for gdb? Seems to me like I'm missing something because what is the point of creating a symbols-less core dump, if you can't run it through gdb or do anything with it? -- rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in rb_ipod_static_playlist_source_get_itdb_playlist() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323451 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
