Binary package hint: openoffice.org
(it took time to me to find the very cause and to got the smallest proof
joined !)
- By mistake, I let an alpha channel in a png image I included in a document
- My document was saved at word97 format, then reload later
- Then, the first awkward behavior was printing echoing some characters of the
text (only on printer)
- But in fact, Ooffice get unsteady: slow at some operations, crashing easily
(e.g. on some undoing)
Once I replaced the png by a non-alpha version, everything got right.
NB:
- the bug does not occurs before saving/loading in word97
- The effect on characters does not occurs for all possible sentence (a
parenthesis at the beginning seems efficient)
