The restart notification did showed up and I closed firefox to reopen it. However, I had an open window/instane of firefox in a different desktop and that's why the "restart" wasn't truly a restart, and it had passed some time after I has submitted the "bug" until i figurred it out!
Anyway, maybe it would be a good idea, maybe, to be something like "a flag" for firefox-upgrade-to-be-installed and show an alert box if the upgrade can't be installed at every new firefox-window that opens, because "probably another firefox instance is already running". Thanks for your immediate concern and support.
