Why else have a special w3m-el-snapshot package?
It's possible that it *might* work with non snapshot packages, but I suppose that for the reason that the normal w3m-el package doesn't work with snapshot, they are incompatible. My particluar beef is with the fact that emacs-snapshot-nox is not one of its antecedents/dependencies whatever you wish to call it. If I have emacs-snapshot-nox, I cannot install w3m-el-snapshot without either installing equivs and making a fake package emacs so tricking it into installing, or installing the whole x-server emacs with gtk dependencies etc. Not at all what I wanted to do on a distro that is supposed to be x free. Can you explain why emacs-snapshot-nox is _not_ a dependency? I can assure you that w3m-el-snapshot works fine without ordinary emacs as a dependency. Shelagh Am I clear enough? I would be happy to elaborate some more if I'm not. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Jabber: shelagh.man...@gmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- -- snapshot depends emacs22 - should only be emacs-snapshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250364 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
