I did as you requested. After I hit enter it started doing something
than stopped. I could print characters in terminal, but I could not do
anything or stop (Ctrl+C) the process. I could also switch to other
terminals, but I couldn't login. Switching to graphics (alt+f7) gave me
a black screen after which I couldn't switch back to the terminals.
Finally I used SysRq+B to reboot.
