Yes, this is reproducible on Ubuntu 8.04 (I haven't tried it on other
versions).

To reproduce the problem, right click on the desktop and choose to
create a Launcher. Type in a location (http:// or file:// will work fine
for this example), then change the type of Launcher from Application to
Location. When you try to open the launcher you just created, it fails;
if you inspect the launcher, the location you entered earlier
"disappeared".

If you first change the type of launcher from Application to Location,
then enter a location, creating a Launcher works as expected.
