It has occurred several times but it is not perfectly reproducible.  I
would say it's happening about 20% of the time at present.

I'll try suspending from VT1 next time.

It was working fairly well in intrepid and working quite reliably in
jaunty until a few weeks ago, when the goes-back-to-sleep bug started
occurring.  Search Launchpad for my name and X61s to find other bugs.
