Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-mount
I used to be able to rsync music to my USB mp3 player. Now, with gnome-
mount, I have three problems:
1. Case - Directories named A, B, C etc are always removed and recreated
when using rsync (which thinks they are called a, b, c etc.). Fixed by
using shortname=mixed
2. Times - rsync complains "failed to set times on "[...]": Operation
not permitted (1)". This seems to be caused by the files being owned by
root. I think maybe pmount made them owned by me, which makes the above
operation succeed.
3. Permissions. The default permissions were fmask=0077, dmask=0077.
Coupled with owner=root, this makes the device hard to use.
I fixed 1 and 3 by adding umask=0000,shortname=mixed in the Volume tab
in nautilus. But it seems I should *not* have to do this.
