Hello. Thanks for reporting this. If it keeps crashing at different
points it sounds most like a hardware problem. (you say both upgrade and
install attempts fail). The syslog files from a failed install attempt
would actually be helpful in determining that. See this page for

Could you also try with Feisty which has a newer kernel? See:
