Hi Henrik,

It will take a while to repro (and I am sure I can) but I actually
found the reason. This is nothing to do with microdrive it is
all to do with 4GB capacity of it. Ubuntu in it's current
package needs more than 4GB. However if you run it
to install to any partition <= 4GB it will carry installation
to the very end and than run grub-install even if there is zero
bytes available at destination. No wonder bug-install fails.

I believe the bug should be fixed first in ubuntu install but
it won't hurt if grub also checks the "du/df" of destination
before it try to install itself.

If you still need log file I will create one for you.
