You are probably right, Alexander, but the issue comes up also when signal is not even acceptable. In numbers, I may have a network with 10% of signal, another with 90%, and Ubuntu connects to the one with 10%. If signal is similar, or good enough at least, it won't matter the AP Ubuntu connects to; but if the signal makes a significant different, I think it matters. A lot.
