Thanks! I tried downloading GIMP 2.6.2 from getdeb, but it refused to install. gimp-data conflicts with gimp-python, and ubuntu-desktop is dependent of gimp-python. In other words I have to remove ubuntu-desktop in order to install gimp-data. I searched the Ubuntu Forums and some people said that removing ubuntu-desktop shoud be fine, so I guess I can do so safely unless I want to make a distro upgrade in the future? I prefer clean installs, so that's okay with me as long as removing ubuntu- desktop doesn't give me any other troubles.
Any thoughts? I know this isn't the right place to discuss this, but if you know what to do about this ubuntu-desktop package, then please let me know. Just tell me if I dare to remove or not so I can proceed without trembling hands :) The description of ubuntu-desktop: This package depends on all of the packages in the Ubuntu desktop system It is also used to help ensure proper upgrades, so it is recommended that it not be removed. -- GIMP Print Size several millimetres off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329429 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
