Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
On my laptop I set "Regard the computer as idle after: 5 minutes", I
uncheck "Activate screensaver when computer is idle" and check "Dim
display when idle".
After 30 seconds of idle, my display is dimmed. But after 5 minutes,
it's un-dimmed again. My guess is, that it's because the screensaver
shouldn't be dimmed - fine - but when I'm not using a screensaver, the
display should stay dimmed, even after idle time sets in.
