Xine will no longer play mpg files that were created with VLC. On
Kubuntu 8.10 xine crashes KDM, killing X if you try to play an mpeg
video. Restarting kdm does not fix the crash, a reboot is required. On
Kubuntu 8.04, you just get a black screen, and no sound. This behavior
stated a month or two ago after applying some updates.
VLC and mplayer can play the mpg files without problem.
