Binary package hint: linux-firmware
in the nslu2 we now include the firmware in d-i as
/lib/firmware/NPE-C.02020201 and /lib/firmware/NPE-B.01020201
the driver expects to find /lib/firmware/NPE-B instead of the long name and
refuses to load the firmware if no symlink that
shortens the name is in place.
using ln -s /lib/firmware/NPE-B.01020201 /lib/firmware/NPE-B in a d-i shell
brings the interface up fine with
ip link set dev eth0 up
please include NPE-B and NPE-C symlinks in the package, pointing to
NPE-B.01020201 and NPE-C.02020201 respectively in /lib/firmware
