Public bug reported:

Hi I am dual booting win xp and ubuntu 8.10.
I am using DWA-542 with a router with WPA encryption (used 2 different routers
with same encryption).

Basically my issue is I can connect to my network but at random
intervals my connection drops entirely and my downloads fail preventing
myself to get any updates. I get the 113 no route error when the
connection "drops" the weird thing is I can watch my downloads stop but
my icon in the top will still say "65%" connection. I looked through
this site and seen somewhat similar issues with previous versions of
ubuntu and tried some of the solutions but was unable to get a reliable
connection.

When I type ip route I get.
192.168.0.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.199 metric 2
169.254.0.0/16 dev wlan0 scope link metric 1000
default via 192.168.0.1 dev wlan0 proto static

so that looks correct to me. I am posting this on my ubuntu side so it
works sometimes just randomly drops (p.s. the xp side I have no issues
with wireless connection).
