yes, it still appears to be an issue, however with edgy I have to go to System->Administration->Date and Time, and then the syncronize now button seems to have no effect (doesn't update the clock for some reason), but if I manually adjust the time, the same lockup occurs and I have to power cycle the computer. Again, this is running the OpenBox window manager; I haven't checked, but I'm betting it's not a problem when running metacity, so it's really a bug in openbox when the system clock changes.
