sorry it took me a while to reply.. i wasn't sure how to set the driver to 'nv' i talked to somebody on #ubuntu+1 and he said i should just remove the nvidia driver from the Restricted Drivers Manager.. i did that and i was able to use the terminal, no problems..
the problem exists with the nvidia driver activated. and it exists even with the latest updates of Jaunty. i also don't know if this might help but i had the same issue when i was using openSuSE; so there is a chance that the driver is broken.. while we're at it, I also get a black screen when i log in to gnome, i have to refresh the screen by hitting ctrl-alt-f1 then ctrl-alt-f7 to be able to see the GUI.. thanks ~dyf -- black screen when switching to a virtual terminal with nvidia-180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
