Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. If I understood, you are saying that the instructions in
Ubuntu documentation are not correct, or don't mention how to connect to
the internet using a 3G modem such as the Huawei USB modems? This is
true in Ubuntu 8.10, the documentation is not up-to-date with this kind
of devices.
Are you also not able to set up an internet connection with your modem?
