I have tried to install a Jaunty alpha in a virtual machine but I couldn't get sound with it (the Preferences/Sound software wasn't even installed). I'll have to check if it works in a more recent Jaunty version.
It might not be relevant but I've happened to installed the PPC version of Ubuntu on an iMac G5 and the sound preferences work as expected (I get the UbuntuStudio music at startup). I'm not sure if it comes from the different kernel (Ubuntu Intrepid PPC has 2.6.25.x) or a different piece of software. My usual laptop with the standard (i386) Ubuntu version still has the problem with up-to-date packages as of today. -- Wrong startup music at first boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314333 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
