I have a HDA Intel (ALC 888) card myself.
I also have no analog sound. Digital passthrought works fine though.
My channels are not muted as suggested above, and killing pulseaudio
while trying to use an alsa-only solution does not work either. I will
try to boot another kernel to check if that isolates the problem.
