I have the same issue. Yesterday I made upgrade and great ammount of kde stuff was upgraded except phonon-backend-xine. I tried to upgrade it manually by the command 'sudo aptitude install phonon-backend-xine' and discovered this conflict between the packages. Aptitude couldn't resolve this conflict. Now both the dragonplayer and the amarok2 are unable to play any media while mplayer works perfectelly.
