Thanks for your reply. I thought this was perhaps a kernel issue but wasn't sure. I'm also unsure as to whether this kind of issue is to be expected from an alpha release and will somehow be fixed in the development process or whether this hardware will be unable to run Jaunty until some further action is taken. Unfortunately I doubt it will be possible to achieve a command prompt in the "broken" state to obtain the debugging information. As mentioned, I can post details from intrepid on the same machine.
