Dear Dimitrios, and others I am sorry for not reporting back. I have not seen this problem for some time now. The problem here was: At the end of the booting (right before X should be started), the system got off the "graphical bootup" and I got this message "Checking battery state...". Here, it did not really hang, but if I hit any key, it just continued to boot and everything was fine. However, if I did not hit any key it stopped at this message. This did not happen at every bootup, but seemingly randomly. Since I dont see this bug no more, I cannot help any further in giving a dmesg output. What I can say is that I have Intel graphics, and not ATI.
