Expected behavior: I expected no change in the operation of Ubuntu or WinXP. Behavior encountered: No change in operation of WinXP. When I booted into Ubuntu, the keyboard was operative for the Grub menu, and I selected Ubuntu. Ubuntu booted and brought up the login box asking for user name. At this point, the keyboard was inoperative. I could not type in my name, and I could not toggle the state of the num-lock, cap- lock or scroll-lock. I pressed the power switch so that the computer powered down. I repeated the previous sequence with the same results. Both of the above tests were with my PS2 keyboard. At this point I replaced the keyboard with another PS2 keyboard and repeated the sequence, with the same result. I do not own a USB keyboard, so could not test that.
