Please look into this - it is easily reproducable with an onscreen keyboard like onboard. Happens with jaunty as well.
I really hope for this bug to be fixed before the release of jaunty. As compiz is now default, Ubuntu is not usable on tablet pc's (slate) in the standard configuration. Also the dialog is pretty ugly see attached screenshot.
