As requested, I tested Jaunty Alpha4 with no success. When closing the lid it just turn off the screen, opening the lid turn on the screen back.
Suspending from the menu: the computer suspends successfully, but it won't resume, same as original report. If a click the power button, the laptop makes a beep (some times, could not reproduce reliably) Using sleep.sh force without sudo just output some error messages (i can post it if needed), with sudo the machine sleeps but it won't wake up. when trying to wake up the leds stop blinking and i can hear the cd tray 'working' but nothing else happens As a side comment, the live cd, did not recognize the touch pad (I think is a synaptic. Should i file a bug?). But at least, i have not to keep a key pressed to boot!
