Notify-osd did exist on Intrepid, but wasn't publicly available :)
My notification-daemon worked fine on Intrepid.

I'm suspecting the following sequence of events that lead to the current
situation:

- when I first run Jaunty, notify-osd displayed a dialog box instead of a
bubble, with "Do not display this information again" button
- after I clicked the button notify-osd indeed stopped displaying the message -
in any form.

Has anyone else had that problem? It may very well be just an unlikely
coincidence, that is not going to affect anyone as soon as the network-
manager is patched.

I was trying to get you the information you requested, but dbus monitor
did not display *any* activity when connection was established. Am I
doing something wrong?
