Nope, it's not that difficult though - you can copy an existing menu entry file (.desktop files, e.g. in /usr/share/applications) and edit the copy, it mostly speaks for itself. I do think you'll have to place the new ones in /usr/share/applications for now (or perhaps some dir in your home dir but I'm not sure which one) - Xfce 4.8 will be (is) better at this :) (you know, with you being able to use a menu editor like Alacarte and stuff)
