Hi Daniel, Just before you posted this I'd had a major system problem and had to reinstall everything.
When I did, ironically I had sound in Gnome apps but not KDE. I actually managed to fix it though by opening the pulse audio volume controller and noticing that the default sound output was going to an unused onboard soundcard. When I changed this (and changed where current outputs of already set up programs like VLC were going) it seems to work fine (knock on wood). Feel free to close this down, although if it's of any use for future issues the alsa-info data is now uploaded here: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=a0b1ac6cf761639c5d9fa7cba8cc71b2c6821615 Cheers -- Sound works perfectly in KDE apps, but no sound in Gnome apps https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/331706 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
