I can confirm this problem on my ThinkPad W500. On resumption, the
system seems to successfully read the memory from disk, but the systems
freezes after that. No reaction to keyboard input or mouse movement.
System is Jaunty 9.04, all updates installed (February 23, 2009). Kernel
is 2.6.28-8-generic (x86_64 installation).

Hibernate and resume worked until a few days ago. May be, the problem is the 
upgrade from 
2.6.28-7-generic to 2.6.28-8-generic. However, I did not yet have the time to 
make further tests.


I think the importance of this bug is critical, since hibernate and resume is 
an essential feature for laptop usage.
