It is not reproducible on Jaunty, but I'm pretty sure that's not good news. My framerate on 8.10 is 600-700 frames per second, while on Jaunty it's only 60 frames per second. So, we don't know whether the original problem has been solved, but it looks like there's a serious new problem. FWIW, this is true on a Dell D630 as well as the HP-6730b mentioned in the original bug report.
It's not really relevant here, but it's worth mentioning that the trackpad doesn't work on the HP-6730b in 9.04, but it does work under 8.10. I am currently rerunning the test with debugging X and OpenGL libraries on 8.10 to see if I can get a more fully populated stacktrace. My framerate is swinging around in the 30-95 range, and I'm frequently seeing gears pause for a second or two at a time. I've been running for a couple of hours now without a crash, so I suspect the overhead of the debug libraries has caused enough perturbation to keep the original crash from happening. I'll let it run overnight before I give up on it. -- glxgears crashes X server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/328208 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
