I have the same problem with a Acer Aspire 5102WLMi, Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 4 (with latest updates).
There is two solutions: * Use of evdev general input driver (by edit HAL fdi file), but without any Synaptics configurations like sensivity or touch-click. * Install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics and edit HAL fdi file for use that driver.
