This bug was reported one year ago. It seems that nobody cares about it.
It's very frustating to have a 500GB hard disk with 1MBps (or less) file
transfers. The solution? Change the computer or install windows. I've tested
FreeBSD, many linux flavours and OpenSolaris with the same results (do they
share the USB code?). I thought that the USB was broken so I bought a new one,
with the same results.
I'm using a 2.4 GHz computer and it's I/O is slower than a 286. Many users have
the same problem with many different configurations and machines. I think that
importance should be high. I wold be happy to report logs or anything that
would be helpful but nobody cares....

Sorry for that text in my poor english but i'm VERY frustrated and
waiting that a 2 Gig file copies in 45 minutes.... crazy.
